The Election Commission has ordered a full repoll in West Bengal’s Falta Assembly constituency after serious complaints during voting on April 29. Fresh polling in all 285 booths will be held on May 21, with counting on May 24. Allegations included EVM button tampering using adhesive tape and perfume, voter intimidation, obstruction and illegal presence of party cadres inside polling stations. The Commission also noted instances of companions voting on behalf of electors and missing video footage from some booths. Results for Falta will be declared later than the rest of the State.
